Animation Styles

Research on the different types of Animation techniques to work on:

Cut-Out Animation: stop-motion technique for producing animations, using flat characters, props and backgrounds made out of different materials such as paper, card, stiff fabric or even photographs

  • Video Examples:

Lumage Animation: a form of cut-out animation. Where pellon paper is the primary paper used. The light table underneath the background is on, giving the image a stain glass look.

Experimental:

The Icebook by Davy & Kristin McGuire

  • The Icebook is the world’s first projection mapped pop-up book, a theatrical installation depicting a silent fable through a combination of paper pop-ups, projection mapping and music.  A projection is beamed onto the book’s pages, the paper comes to life as if by magic and a dark, atmospheric story unfolds about a man on a journey through the wilderness.
